Underrated!

I’ve been blessed to have several moments on this strength history journey where I sort of laughed to myself and thought, “When I posted for the first time on Instagram, I never would’ve predicted that I’d…” Be a guest on the podcast for lifters working hard or hardly working, Massenomics Podcast? That ranks pretty high on the list of surprising developments!

I’ve been listening to Massenomics Podcast for a couple years and dumping my money into the South Dakotan economy for about just as long. Lift Shorts, Drink Spotter, shirts, etc. Those boys know how to target the wide audience of weight lifters that like to confuse their friends and family with their choice of attire. They also sneak up on you.

I felt about as many miles away from Tanner and Tommy as Pittsburgh is to Aberdeen, but it might as well have been a trip to Storybook Land, because out of nowhere, Tanner started bugging asking me about York roundhead dumbbells. I get questions from people all the time concerning old weights, but I’ve never been contacted by someone I’ve purchased so many items from. I love increasing the population of the vintage weights community. So when Tanner asked me about acquiring vintage dumbbells, I was thrilled. I also knew he’d probably make a video about them. Little did I know he’d be my number one affiliate link clicker and buy all of his supplies from my supply list! Thanks, Tanner.

I recently posted a video with my thoughts about affiliate links. I really haven’t earned much money at all. I’ve yet to even cash out from any of the sources. I used some Obsidian Ammonia credit to get more smelling salts. I guess that’s the downside of affiliate links for places you love: you’re tempted to just buy more of their stuff yourself.

But the Massenomics Podcast does straight advertisements and promotional material on their podcast in addition to having some affiliate links. You’ve probably heard their Texas Power Bars history lesson a couple times. This is a revenue source I aspire to acquire. I’d hold the same ethical standards as I espoused in my affiliate link video. I would only promote and advertise for companies I honestly love, products I use, and entities I’d suggest for free let alone be paid to suggest. 3inONE and DeWalt, I’m looking at you.

The Massenomics Podcast has inspired me in more than just money-making goals and money-spending on shirts though. From the first episode of my own podcast and through the learning process of producing my own YouTube videos, I’ve listened to Massenomics with a keen ear. The way Tanner and Tommy combine some planned content with organic and genuine conversation is a skill. I study the way they get off track and how they bring the focus back. I learn from their tone when delivering questions or engaging with the guest about something serious versus something silly. I’ve also taken note of how they sort out who speaks and when. I don’t know exactly how they figure it out, but their politeness when interrupting each other seems natural. I’m flying solo in my YouTube videos and podcasts, but I learn so much from the long haired duo.

If you haven’t listened to episode #375, please listen by following the link below and make sure to like and comment. Let them know what you think of old weights and Pittsburgh toilets. Thank you, Massenomics!
